No Brakes...lookout
 

So I was driving tonight and my brakes went out. I went to brake and the brake pedal went straight to the floor.
I had no fluid in the brake reservoir.
I filled it back up an it all was gone in 20 min.

So I drove the truck home very very carefully :scared1:
and noticed brake fluid all over the back left tire in the inside.

What do you all think could be the problem..

sorry it this is not the right section of forums, thought it was technical, some technical driving with out brakes atleast haha

blown line... crap wheel cylinder... get a move on and stop driving it

I'm guessing there drums so it most likly brake cylinder

I agree with Stone. Wheel cylinder is probably shot or the line rusted through or got pinched. If there is brake fluid inside the drum it's 99% the wheel cylinder. If not, well it's probably the line itself.

so lets say it the wheel cylinder....what be ball park number to fix at a shop

I assume you have no mechanical skills? It's not very difficult. Pull the wheel off. Put the drum off. Unbolt wheel cylinder. Replace. Bleed brakes.

I have no idea what it would cost at a shop because I've never needed brakes done at a shop.

well, i watched a video on it online, seemed like i could do it, but to cold, no garage, and 99.9 % I would somehow mess it up. haha

Same exact problem happened to me a few weeks ago...replaced the wheel cylinder and works great. I live in Pennsylvania and it was freezing temperatures in my garage when I did it and it sucked, but doing it outside may be rough.

It's easy to do if you can change the drum brake parts...once you have most of those off you can get to the wheel cylinder, and it's only 2 simple bolts.
