no ignition fire out of coil pac

I have a 2004 Ford Ranger 6 cylinder, and I am not getting any ignition fire out of coil pac. I am in need of possible reasons.

cookieanne76, if you could provide the engine size (3.0 or 4.0) it would help to narrow down possible causes.

With the ignition in the on position, check fuse 11 in the Battery Junction Box (BJB) under hood with a test light or voltmeter. If it checks out ok, pull the electrical connector at the coil pack. With the ignition on, back probe the connector’s number 1 terminal (Red Wire). If you don’t have power at this terminal, you’ll need to pull one of the fuel injector’s connector. With the ignition on, check the connector's # 2 terminal (Red Wire) for power. If you don’t have power go back to the BJB and remove the PCM Power Relay (#47). With the ignition on, check terminal 86 in the socket for power. If you have power, check terminal #85 to ground. If the ground checks good, replace the PCM relay.

For BJB diagram and component list, click this link and go to page 144 Owner's Manual
