Normal Temp?

is it normal for the temp guage to "float" a little? also, the temp guage will be below the "C" when i first start it up in the morning, and after i drive it a little and it warms up, it will stay on the line just slightly above the "C" mark. is this o.k. or should it be higher? it doesn't seem right to me. its a '99 XLT, with the 2.5L

I had the same issue with mine. It would never actually reach temperature. I changed the t-stat to a 195 and it sits just below halfway now.

this is my first Ford Ranger so i wasn't sure what the normal temp. on it should be. i figured it should be halfway between hot and cold like any other vehicle. anyone else experienced this problem? where is the t-stat on these trucks?

I had a 94 that always read 1/4 up the guage from day one .Only time it went higher was when the belt broke and stopped the fan.

good luck with the oil...the ranger so called oil pressure gauge isnt really a guage...its just a replacement for a light...ever notice how the guage doesnt change with engine rpm?
