Need electrical help........

Alright, so I have my hood up and one of my buddies is standing there. I decide to scare him and start the panic alarm. He stick his hand down and putss his hand over my horn and blocks the end of it. Then the horn dies on its own. SO, now my horn doesn't work. Get in the truck later that night and the dome light doesn't work either. Even manually turning it on doesn't work. Everything else is fine so far. Any idea what happened?

Fuse probably. Look at your owners manual chart and you might find out which one.

Does your keyless entry still work fine?

It's possible the domelight and horn share a fuse, but I don't remember off hand (if I ever knew, lol) and I don't have the wiring diagram for an '05 here.

Yeah, the key-less entry still works. Those are the only two things I've found that don't work, and you're exactly right. It's a blown fuse that only the horn and interior lights share.

And ah, you might want to check the wiring down there. Something is obviously installed pretty poorly if that caused wire to short.

I haven't messed with anything dealing with the horn or the dome light. It's all stock wiring. It's worked the past year I've had it but this fused is toasted after he clogged my horn. I'm just going to put another in it, see if it blows it, and if it does I might be on the look out for a different LOUD horn and then check the wiring.

It's possible that the horn just drew more current when "fed back" on itself by blocking the outlet. You may have a further electrical fault, but maybe not.
