OBD2 Code Scanners/readers

I noticed on E-Bay a large number of Code Scanners for sale and was wondering if anyone had experience/recommendations with any of these. They seem like an important addition to any DIY toolbox.

I am very new to these forums and really appreciate the help from all contributors and respondants. Thankyou.

If you're looking for a cheaper one that just reads and erases codes. Most parts stores sell them for under $100. Actron makes a decent one that I use, it throws you in the right direction of what is wrong or where to start checking.

I picked one up at Princess Auto on sale for 60 bucks. It will read and erase codes. I think there is a Princess Auto in Ottawa.
