Heat Mode selector switch

Heat only comes through the defrost. Can not select the floor or cabin mode.
Any help to fix problem would be appreciated.

I replaced the resistor Pack AGAIN !
First time I did it I went from a two speed motor to a one speed, WTF, less speed than I started from.
Raced it the second time and have three speed now but only in the defroster.
No matter where I put the selector switch it is alway defroster.

So I am hoping this thread will help more than you.

Just came out from under my Ranger. I fixed my problem. Read in many places if you loose vacuum the defrost is the default setting. Lots of people talk about vacuum leaks. I found two vacuum lines coming out from under the heater box right above the wheel well (in eng. compartment) one I traced to the water control valve. The other is the vacuum supply line for the HVAC controls. I saw it run down below the alternator (2.3DOHC) jacked up front end and found the vacuum canister mounted under the air cleaner housing. (did not see it from above) The supply line had come loose from the canister & was laying on the front frame. The rubber plugs don't fit very tight 'm thinking about adding a very tiny zip tie to the plug. Hope this helps or at least gives you one more easy step in trouble shooting
