I have a 99 B3000 5-speed and yesterday when i went out to start it...i had nothing. The overhead light was on, my CD player was on and and the key was dinging, but nothing. I tried jumping it off and still nothing, it will not even turn over just turn the key and everything goes out. I towed to my local mechanic (known for 15+ years) and he checked the battery, grounds and what not and it all checked out great. He believes that it is stuck in "Theft Mode" and i need a new key and a reflash of the computer, or the computer is fried, or the GEM module is bad. Can anyone help me with this? Maybe something cheaper than the above possibilities.

Basically in short headlights don't work...lights on dash and overhead light are dim but work. Turn the key and nothing not even a click. Battery is fine, grounds are fine, starter is fine.

Having it towed to the dealership tomorrow...please help.

have you tried jumping the starter? Sounds to me like it might be a bad starter. If it was the PATS system, you should have a red theft light on the dash blinking.
