i have a 4.0 liter 04 ranger and i dont know which chip to get for it, i want more power because i lost a lot when i put the lift on it, is there any other way to get more power any ideas?

yea you can get the x cal tuned for 87 octane and for higher octane when you wana get a little more performance out of the tuner

You can get the x-cal from www.stuffforyourranger.com. You will be happiest with the x-cal and the different options it gives you. Most people on here that have a chip/tuner run the x-cal.

So if you got like the 87 Millage option and 87 Performace option, You could switch it on the fly? Then if you if you fill it up with 91 you can choose 91 performance?

 

Not on the fly. You just have to load the tune before you drive.

Like the chips always in your truck plugged in right? in just plugs in at the bottom of your dash there in that port?

And you just enter it into the chip whichever setting you want and go?

 

A chip goes in the computer and is on until you take it out. A programmer saved the stock tune so you can go back to stock any time. You can also change the options at any time. With a chip you are stuck with what it is programmed to.

 

Oh this is a Programer right? so you can change it whenever you want.

Where do you mount it?

 

You only hook up the programmer when you want to change something. The rest of the time leave it at home.

 

OH! so how much of a difference does it really make for millage? and performacne on 97 and 91?

 

Its the best bang for the buck. Even better when you have other mods. I haven't done it yet though.

Yes. You can adjust even further if you like.

 

You can always get new tunes when you get new mods too. You just have to email the tuner and tell them what you added and they'll write you a new tune, then you just download it to the programmer from your computer.

i like mine. i run a 93 torque tune and it really seems to help with the bigger tires.. i got mine from Doug at bamachips.com. works great!

Intake, Exsaust, some say sythetic oil gives you a bit not sure if its true
