Icon10 Fuel Mileage Problem

I have a 2004 Ranger EDGE 4x4, with the 6.0 in it, and I am struggling to get 12-13 miles to the gallon with NO 4x4 use at all. I have a KN air intake in it too which seems to be doing nothing. I recently bought a engine temperature sensor, noticing my temp gauge was rarely moving above cold, but am assuming this isnt going to fix the problem completely? Any ideas will be great! yes i change the oil normally, and yes I use fuel injector cleaner, but the truck only has 60k on it and should not be burning fuel like this! PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

6L?! Jesus, i think thats the problem with your mileage. I wanna see this beast. Post some pics, and your signature so forum members can see what they are dealing with. Bro, honestly I have no idea about your fuel problems, but Im sure someone else on the forum (that has a 6L in it?) can help. Welcome to Rforum BTW.

Change ur fuel filter, clean ur MAF, and IAC, tuner, e-fan, Underdrive pulleys, etc.. That might get you 16-17

Also, grease your muffler bearings and top off your tail light fluid.

I try :)

Seriously tho, all the things i listed will help with mpgs, maybe a new exhaust too. But a lot of it is driving style/habits. Lay off the skinny pedal yo.

Welcome to the crappy mpg club. See what a tuner will do for you.

Also worth a shot -- look at your t-stat... if you're temp sender doesn't get your gauge reading about mid-scale, then it could be that your t-stat is passing cold water -- leaving your ride in the richer mixture maps.

Post-up what you find (as you can see, you're not alone)
