OK, for my protection they added PATS

BUT I DONT WANT IT. So can I get rid of it? I see where they sell a complete tumbler and two keys on Amazon no programming needed. So can I just put in a new tumbler that doesnt need a PATS key?
I just had my shower valve in the bathroom replaced and they replaced the two valve system with a single valve system because it must...by law...be a pressure balanced valve which means no VOLUME control.ON or OFF and temperature control. Insanity what lawmakers are doing to us!
Next thing they will want no accelerator, just turn on the key and wide open, turn it off and the brakes jamb on!

Actually protection for all of us, stolen vehicles cost all of us $$$ in higher insurance and possible injury from less than competent thieves driving stolen vehicles

In any case, no, not without spending some money on re-programming, there are programming guys that should be able to remove PATS test from cluster and computer
And no on the key swap, not how it works

Think of PATS as a Home Alarm system that automatically arms when no one is home, the kind you need to punch a code into a keypad to disarm it
If you changed the locks on your front door does that bypass/eliminate the Alarm..............................no it does not, still need to punch in the code
So changing the ignition key and cylinder also does nothing to disable PATS, PATS still needs the correct Key code to turn it off
