Opened up my dead alternator

Hey Guys,

My alternator bit the dust on my 2002 the other week. I pulled it apart and I thought it would be interesting to show what I found.

Sorry for the crappy quality pictures.... there from my phone.

It seems like the arm shifted in the case ... maybe due to a worn bearing or something. The cooling fins were making contact with the case.... and im not sure but maybe it was grounding out?

So this picture shows the wear marks from the cooling fins hitting the case

This is supposed to show how much the fin was chewed up
