Passenger side carpet wet. Tried everything. What's next?

Passenger side carpet wet from underneath.

Searched here, other forums, googled, etc. For months!

I've resealed the whole window/door seals on the passenger side, resealed the back window and third brake light, resealed all rubber grommets in the floor boards, checked the drain hole behind the distribution box, removed fender and checked drain on that side. While that was off I sealed all body seams. It's not the heater core because it doesn't smell like coolant and it only gets wet when it rains. I've performed multiple water tests and can see it dripping on the fender side but can't find it's origin (too tight and cramped).

My next thought is windshield. I got a quote for resealing it for $100, but run the risk of breaking the windshield which could cost $200. The windshield guy is the one who pointed me in the direction of sealing the seams in the fender. I don't mind doing this, but it's not guaranteed that it will fix it.

I've only owned the truck for 9 months and didn't have the problem in the winter with snow or anything. I noticed it around 3 months ago. I do some "fixes" & dry it out then it rains & I'm back to square one.

I'm at a complete loss of what to do & where this leak is coming from. I need this problem fixed so I can move onto the next one. Anybody have any other ideas or thoughts on what to do? I appreciate any responses. Thanks!

Is there sort of a sweet smell to the wet area, like anti-freeze ?

Maybe a heater core leak.

it sounds to me like you have exhausted all other options. i would say windshield. would your insurance cover it? got any chips or cracks in it? i had my windshield replaced and it was $150 installed at my house.

Thanks for the replies. Insurance doesn't cover the windshield, but that's not a problem. There are no cracks or chips in it. I guess I will set up an appointment to have it resealed & hope it doesn't break. It will be worth it to have this headache gone.

Thanks.

My ’88/STX/5.0L had a leak on the driver’s side and yes it was the windshield, it had rotted out.
I took off the trim, filled the channel along the bottom for about 20 inches and up the side for about 12 inches and then push the trim back on; fixed it !
