Hey! I picked up a pair of Hella Halogen 4000X "pencil beams", but they're really not very focussed IMO. Yes - they're better than fogs, floods or work lights...but I want at least one light that projects a tight circle 100 yds ahead. (and before you scoff at the 100 yds. part - I'm just trying to get the point across)

I reached out to Eagle Eye lighting, and they suggested an internal ballast 35W or 50W H.I.D. spot such as their #608. Yeah - it looks like it'll throw the way I want...but I wonder if anyone has an alternative and/or can beat the typical online price of $139(?)

I was also looking at their 50W #965 oval spot -- and I think it just might look alright between the Hella's and beneath the blue oval -- but it's an external ballast. Not a big deal, but I'm skeptical about the beam pattern with an oval reflector + lens.

Feedback? Does anybody have an uncle/sister/brother/father that works somewhere that can beat the usual price(s)?
