Phantom Wipers
Hey all, so I've got a 2008 ford ranger 4.0 and I'm having issues with the wipers. The issue is that they randomly come on when driving. The wipers come on at low speed, but not on an interval, it's almost like something is triggering it to wipe once. It seems to happen when going over bumps.
Things I've replaced, the wiper motor and the turn signal multi function switch assembly. This issue is driving me crazy, any ideas on what I should do next? Is there a fuse or relay I should check? Thanks ! |
This might sound obvious but double check and clean your battery terminals before you dive any deeper. Tighten them down good. I recently had this exact same thing happen (along with a bunch of other electrical gremlins)
It turned out to be a lose positive terminal. I thought it was tight enough, until I gave it a slightly harder tug and noticed a little tiny wiggle, tightened it up about a full turn past "snug" and the problem never came back. Good luck! |
Thanks for the reply, it all seems good to me. I've wiggled the connections with the vehicle running and the wipers never came on.
I'm perhaps thinking the SJB has has some sort of issue however I do not see any traces of moisture nearby. |
