Power Window Question

I have a 2003 ranger and about a week ago my drivers side window quit working. I went to go to work in the morning and the window was froze up. I tried to put it down about two times and then gave up. I tried later and it wouldnt work. Now it wont go up or down but every once in a while it just goes down when you press the button but it wont go back up without help.... I dont know how to tell whats wrong with it. Im assuming that its a mortor or regulator??

Thanks

It could be the switch. Does it make any noises?

it makes like a single clicking noise when i press the button but it sounds like it comes from under the dash...

Take off the door panel and check the plug. Happened to me and it was just some crud buildup that was causing a bad connection. A little electoral contact cleaner cured the problem for me.

The connection looks clean but im gonna try to clean it when i get some contact cleaner. The clicking noise when you press the button comes from a black box under the dash on the far right of the drivers side...

The clicking is probably the auto down relay. Sounds like the switch is working. Use a test light to check and see if you get power to the motor. If so you have a bad motor.
