power windows
power windows
I put power windows in my 98 ranger, I used a thread on here to wire them, a fusable link, inline fuse, 14 gage wire to a 4 prong relay under dash, an add a fuse in fuse box, they have worked great since the install. about a week ago both windows stopped working, I checked 20 amp fuse under hood. it was good, power at relay, turned on key and tried windows...nothing. I was told ground may be problem so I made a new ground and put it on ground but this did nothing...anyone got good advice
Use a test light or volt meter and see if you have 12v and ground at the Master switch in drivers door(key on), then work backwards to find out why you don't have one or the other, because you are missing either 12v or ground

Good work
Thanks for update and the FIX
Generally power window Ground is in drivers side kick panel, its the main Ground for the whole system, passenger door switch gets its ground FROM the master switch, thats how the master switch can control the passenger door window, by grounding UP or DOWN
