power windows...

has anyone ever replaced the motor/regulator for power windows?
my g/f's car's rear driver side window wont stay up anymore and we have to keep taping it up. she doesnt wanna fix it cuz she doesnt wanna pay for it but im thinkin bout buying the parts and fixing it myself... is it really all that difficult? and if it is, has anyone had it done professionally? if so how much did it cost?
PS: she doesnt drive a ranger but i figure they're all similar.
