probably the wrong section

4r44e trans dtr' ie neutral safety switch'. does the 12 pin make a difference from the 11 pin version. don't want to purchase unless im sure it will work.

I thought they all had 12 pin connector, only 11 pins are actually used, so OEM might be listed at 11 pin
2 rows of 6 pins each, #1 pin was never used hence 11 pin description

What year is the Ranger?

The aftermarket ones have 11. I have read other posts that say it won't start with just 11. Just trying to clarify this before I purchase. What do you think.

There were only ever 11 contacts, but 12 places for contacts, either will be fine

If starter didn't work then they forgot to adjust the new sensor to Neutral, which is something you have to do

got it. I know how to do that. so ill buy the 11 pin and give it a shot.
If it doesn't work I can always return it
