Problem with my truck can you help?!

Just had some major work done to my truck and my check engine light is still on. They said its a "Flex Fuel Sensor". Can only get it from Ford and its $612.00. Does anyone have 1 any idea where its located on the truck and 2 a way cheaper price? was thinking maybe a pick-a-part place but not sure if I woul be getting a part that may not work. Any suggestions??

Start reading here: http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/23...d-ii-code.html and listen to anything Rockledge has to say (trust me).

http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/29...-needed-2.html

You could also disconnect C309 (located directly under the driver seat, accessed from UNDER the cab, loosen the bolt in its center) and clean out any corrosion you may find. At the very least, disconnect/reconnect repeatedly to scrub crud off the pins. I also recommend a good gob of dielectric grease to keep water out. This is worth a shot, because that connector has caused a slew of issues with tail lights, etc. It goes without saying (so I'm saying it anyway) that you should do the same with the FF Sensor connector too.

edit: Thanks Badluck: I completely MISSED the question on its LOCATION !!!

Inside the DS framerail.

is it affecting the way your truck drives? i know its annoying for a check engine light to be there but if its just that and its not changing the way its driving i would say screw it. and live life without it. lol

Untill something happens that would also flick on the check engine light and you ignore it thinking it is still the old fuel sensor.

Its a module behind the fuel filter a lil' ways,it was only used for 2 years,99-2000,Ford parts catalog does not show a good picture of it at all,it may have a stamping # YL5H-9C044-B2A or close to it

in some cases it does make the engine want to quit on me when I am going down the road. It almost seems that I turned my key off as I am going 55 MPH. makes that sound of no gas or anything.

Thanks for the posts I will try some of the fixes. Thanks again.

I found this replicator on ebay for the Flex Fuel sensor for $150.00 it works perfectly. I have had it on my truck for about 3 months now and no check engine light no stalling. I have the same power that I had before the sensor went out. It's better then buying a $612.00 dealer sensor. It really works and putting it on the vehicle is fast took maybe 15 minutes.
