wirring auxilary lights
Hey guys im wiring up some lights and i need to pull 12 volts from inside the cab and i dont want to use the radio wire because i already have some stuff coming off of it. My question is can i pull power from an unused fuse slot in the fuse box and if so which one is best im running 2- 55 watt trail lights

You are talking almost 10 Amps thats a lot to draw from any source little lone the interior Circuit Panel not to mention the possibility of a fire from a shorted wire.
IMHO Best Bet… Get a 30 amp Relay and run a fused 12 ga wire directly from the battery to the relay, pin 30, and then from pin 87 to the lights.
Use a low amperage power connection inside of the vehicle for the switch and maybe an LED Indicator light only nothing more.
Power Point inside of the vehicle to the switch, to pin 85 on the Relay.
From Relay pin 86 to Ground.
Simple and straight forward.
PM me and I will send you a write up pn “How to do it the right way the first time”.

Did you disconnect the battery Cable when you connected the power to the battery ?
If so , you might need to remove the battery cable again, clean it really good and add some contact paste and put it back on.
Everything else is by the book.

If you did the wiring as the pic then there should have been no problems UNLESS there was a large enough spark or load on the main fuses.
If so, then check out the fuse panel under the hood and see if there is a fuse blown, which one do not know, check the book or the web for what fuse goes where.
Sorry I can’t be of more help, this is usually not a big deal, add the relay, add the power connect the light and sw bing-bang all done.
Let me know how you make out.
