Hi all
I have recently bought 2.5td 4wd Ranger pickup. Brakes are fine, apart from when off road. If on loose material the abs kicks in (which is fine), but an electrical/vibrating noise occurs from near/behind the pedal, and sometimes continues after pedal is released, all of which is not too much of a concern. Today however, i had the same symptoms, but the abs light remained on and I had very poor braking capacity after. I turned the vehicle off for a while, then on return it was fine. Took it for another drive, brakes fine, until on loose material, odd noise, then poor brakes afterwards for a while.

Any ideas what this could be?

I think the noise is normal when abs is working. If you were hard on the brakes the pedal will vibrate and have some noise. The loose material could have gotten in the sensor and caused light to come on then you reset it by restarting.
