Ranger won't start hot

Newbie to the forum here. I searched the subjects and can't find my exact problem. Here goes. I have a 99 Ranger 3L V6. I can go out right now and it will crank fine. I can drive it for a bit and turn it off and it will not crank back up. If it sits for a while it will crank. Now when I say it won't crank I mean it does nothing. You turn the key and there is no clicking or anything. Just nothing. When it does cool down it cranks normal with no dragging or hesitation. It seems the longer you drive it the longer you have to wait for it to crank. There is no code or anything. I was told that it could be an ignition control module but I can't find one for that model. I have heard it may be this or that sensor but I can't find anything definite. DO you guys have any ideas? Thank so much

Sounds like a wore out starter to me, Sounds like the starter is getting "Heat Soaked" It gets hot and the internals swell up and it won't spin.

IF I take the starter and have it tested will it show a problem under load

Maybe, but when it's cool enough to take out, it probably works.

Also I just noticed that your truck uses a fender mount starter relay, could also be the relay going out.
