read check engine light1990

How do I read a check eng light 4.0. I think its OBD1???? How do you use a light flashing method. I know nothing about doint this. Please no suggestions to take to shop Poor old Man Thanks

OBD connector is "usually" between power brake booster and fender in engine bay, it is just part of wiring harness not attached to anything.

Other places
Passenger side, engine bay
Under battery by rad support, engine bay
