Rear ended someone yesterday....

Hey everyone I just need some advice / ideas on what parts I need and what I need to do. I rear ended someone yesterday and when I got out my radiator was pouring coolant along with my driveshaft being disconnected from the tranny and laying on the ground. My bumper is touching my front left tire and my radiator top hose is touching a pulley.

Your core support is pushed back

Pixolite 04-06-2014 03:28 PM

Okay so need to replace core support and radiator, any ideas on the driveshaft?

djfllmn 04-06-2014 03:36 PM

that i dont know

Core support and radiator. And if you want you could also replace the grill and front bumper. Can you get a pic of where the driveline connects to the tranny?

00GreenRanger 04-06-2014 03:38 PM

Oh and I can't tell from the pics, but the fact that the core support is pushed back means that there is a possibility that you will have to replace the header panel as well since it might be damaged too.

I can't get a pic right now but all looks normal, the hole in the end of the tranny still has a conical piece of rubber sticking out of it where the end of the shaft would normally go.

Have you tried putting it back together to see exactly what happened in the connection between the tranny and the driveline? And did you figure out where that piece laying in the road came from?

Pixolite 04-06-2014 03:56 PM

I have not done either thing happened late last night and it is not at my house right now. I just hope the engine and tranny are okay.

If it was a hard enough hit to knock the rear driveline out then I would get it checked out by a shop. Just to stay on the safe side

Get your frame checked.

Have the frame checked before you start throwing money at it. My truck is a salvage rebuild. It needed the core support, header panel, and side skirt plus all the body panels from the side. It did not have any frame damage so you might get lucky like I did.
