Need wiring color help on 94 Ranger 3.0L Please...

I just got done putting the engine back together on my sister's 94 Ranger 3.0L after she popped a head gasket. I them them resurfaced, full valve job, then I put everything back together with new head bolts, etc. etc. I have all the engine wiring back in place except for two wires. One of these wires has an L-shaped connector on the wires end and comes about 6" out of the harness with another wire. The plug on it looks like the same kind that goes on the small center post on the starter solenoid, or the temp gauge. The color for that wire is white with a red stripe. It has no home and I don't remember removing it when I pulled the engine apart. The other wire, from the same location as the one mentioned above, comes is about twice as long, is broken off on the end, and is white with a pink stripe. I really need to know what this wire is for. The engine is 100 percent back together and will not start. It cranks, but no fire. I pulled the coil wire and I can hear the coil firing to the distributor as I crank it, but it just won't start. I don't know if these two wires are keeping it from starting up though. I looked up that white with a pink striped wire in the Chilton's manual and according to it, it goes from the ignition module to the EEC. I could not find the first one anywhere though.

Could anyone tell me where these two wires are supposed to go?

thanks,

Phil

The wiring diagrams for a 94 w/3.0L shows a white with red stripe wire that goes to the oil pressure switch. The white with pink stripe wire goes between terminal 4 of the Ignition Control Module and terminal 4 of the PCM.

Tracking down wiring...

So if the white/red stripe wire comes from the ignition module, all the way at the front of the car at the radiator support and goes to the PCM, then I am in trouble. Where is the oil pressure switch located? At the back of the engine? Both of the wires are originating at the back of the harness near the distibutor and firewall.

Thanks.

I believe the oil pressure switch is located at the rear of the block just behind the cylinder head on the passenger’s side. Also, I believe the PCM is located in the firewall on the passenger’s side.

Based on the location and description, I would guess:

WH/RD - low oil pressure switch, top rear passenger side of the engine block behind the PS cylinder head.

WH/PK - low oil level switch, passenger side of the engine toward the rear and down low. I'm not that familiar with the early 3.0's but the level switches I've seen on other engines have been mounted into the oil pan.

Good catch Bob. I didn’t see that small leg between the low oil level relay and switch in the schematics. Guess that’s what ya get when the wifee steals your reading glasses. You the Man!
