I wish mine did this! The only thing my truck does for me when it's turned off, is close the sunroof

My f150 does it. I think all new vehicles do it. Except for maybe cheaper models like xl and such

I remember someone posting up a diagram when I first joined about this. I've always wished mine did this so I 1. Used less fuel if I wanted to sit there for a min, or 2. Didnt have to turn off my tuck then back on to close windows.

As its been stated some do it some dont just depends on if its an upgraded package or if something was ordered that would include it. I know of alot of 2008 FX4's that dont even have a rear sliding window but my 06 xl has it.

In a sense its just hooked up alittle bit differently to some style of aux to keep it running. Just like some vehicles lights do it, windows, radio, etc etc it all can vary by brand and model.

are you sure yours was factory like that? i certainly can see f150s having it, but I can't see the ranger would, maybe the newer ones but i have an 06 that does not. I find it hard to believe they just wire some rangers different than others.

oh and here's the wiring, looks like what dave has...

http://sweb.uky.edu/~mwke224/viper/0...ngerwiring.pdf
http://www.therangerstation.com/tech...Audiophile.pdf

these may help make sense of dave's wiring.ylw/blk is door trigger, blk/lt grn is ground, grn/vlt is power.

the last one is what confuses me, 12 volt says that should be accessory wire, not constant 12v. hm.

Bob did a write up on this.

its called like ACC with key off or something. I did it to my ranger and it works as stated.

MY f150 and SD did it from factory. Its pretty simple.

You may have read it wrong or I didnt do a good job of explaining, I was saying that I know newer FX4's that dont even have a rear sliding window but mine does have that. I DONT have the radio stay on. Sometimes different rangers have things done slightly different, like some low option trucks still have the door window/locks, fogs lights, etc wiring for them on the truck just tied up, that if you buy the parts they will plug in and some you have to actually buy the wiring or come up with your own way of wiring. My 06 is a low option xl truck, and this is what it looked like when I got it.......... pretty sad lol now its like this.......

But my truck has a sliding rear window, cruise and tilt steering wheel, tow packing and level 3 hitch, 4.0, 4x4, and 4.10LS all ordered that way. Mine was ordered specifically that way from the first owner, because he wanted the hard vinyl floor, manual doors and locks, but still wanted the goods like 4x4, 4.0, etc etc that arent normally on alot of the xl's and its exactly how Id want mine ordered as well. You'd be suprised how even the same year trucks can be so different, hell even in the other post with Scott's truck and the other one, all 3 of ours are 06's but we all have different door panels and the ring of my steering wheel is a different texture even with the same packages??? Still havent figured that out.

Mine is an '06 as well..XLT, 2wd, AC, CD/MP3 player, PW,PL, 3.0, 3.73 gears with peg leg, auto, no sliding rear window, no tilt, cruise or leather wrapped steering wheel like I have seen in some. And no accessory on/ignition off feature.
