A/C VAC QUESTION?
ok here it goes got a working 97 2.3 shifts good, cold a/c but..... when i take off my blower on the a/c stops blowing hard untill the truck reaches around 40 mph or i let off the gas,as soon as i do it blows cold and hard again, and if im doing 40 or above and i press the gas to pass someone, the blower goes down again and i cant feel the a/c thru the vents until i let off the pedal back to normal, now i thought it might be vac. related but i checked all i could and nothing seems bad or disconnected, and since it was shifting good i didnt think it was related to the shifting vac. any ideas guys im stumped. thnx b.b

Depending on year and model, the check valve can be integral to the reservoir or a separate part. FWIW, the 97 Ranger factory vacuum diagram shows the check valve separate from the vac reservoir. It is very unlikely that you will need to pull the dash. All you need to do is ensure that the reservoir, check valve and vac lines are maintaining vacuum to the HVAC servos whenever the engine vacuum drops temporarily.
