Remove the cut off switch?

When i got my truck, it had this pre installed cut off switch. im not sure if thats what its exactly called, but i must use it to start my truck. i have to press it, then turn the ignition to start, if not it wont start. im not sure how it works and all, or what its connected to, but i want to remove it. im getting tired of having to reach under my dash above the gas pedal, holdin it, then turning the ignition. i also ran into a lil problem with the button....the spring and button came off tonight, but i can still push this thing in to start. i dont know how long it will last like that, so i want to remove it.

did you buy your truck from a "buy here pay here" lot? if so its part of the gps locator on your truck. if not... could be a part of the anti theft system. normally i see it wired up so that the car wont start unless the wipers are on. usually on cars from up north in big city areas with high rates of car theft. any decent mechanic can take it off.

i remember when in the 90's dodge put this 12 button thingie in the ashtray or in your console that you'd have to type in a pin number just to start the vehicle.

get rid of it then if it's bugging you that bad.
