Remove factory alarm sytem

I have had new remote door locks put in my 97 ranger with an auto trans and a 4 banger. It came with a factery alarm syatem. The problem started because I did not have any remotes for the factory system. At the time, I did not know that I could just get some used remotes and reprogram them. So I had an after market system installed. They were suposed to remove my factory system when they installed theres but they did not. Now my horn goes off about half the time. I do not need an alarm. I live in a very safe place and if some one wants my Ranger they can have it, LOL. That way I can build another one. I need the remote to open my door because the keys do not fit the doors and I have not got around to taking the locks down to the shop and having them rekeyed.
Any andvise would be helpfull.

Thank you Steve

So why did you have an aftermarket system installed if you don't need an alarm? Why not just disable the existing one?

Did not have a new alarm installed. It was just door lock controls. No Alarm. But this darn thing sets off the old fatctory alarm that should of been disabled when they hooked up the new door locks. Now the shop says they do not know how to do that but they are willing to just cut the wire to my horn. does anyone know were the remote cotrole is located on this truck? Then I can just pull the whole darn thing out and rewirw it myself.

You should have the shop uninstall what they did at no charge, since they didn't do it right, and go somewhere else.

When I had my aftermarket alarm installed, I had to get a PATS bypass so it would work properly

I agree, willing to cut your horn wire to "fix it"? Have them undo and give you back your monies.

Do what 01Ranger said. The company should have installed it right the first time.

Thanks for all your replys but that does not work in Idaho. they tell you to go F%$& your self and I can take it some place else. I can sue them but it would cost me more than the 125.00 I would get back. Do not reply if you do not know were the connection is please. Thanks Steve

I don't see how you can't contact the BBB an let them talk to the shop. I also don't understand how Idaho is different from the other 49 states in that they don't have to honor their work

But since it doesn't matter good luck to you
