Shifting ****

Hi,
I'd like to change the shifting **** of my Ranger (2011). I'm not sure the thread size is 12mm x 1.25. Somebody can help me?
Thank you :)

It's not threaded. It's splined and glued. The only way is to replace the whole shifter arm with a semi rare fx4 one or a hurst one. Neither option is cheap.

There is the HURST Shifter Kit.
Replaces the upper portion of the Ranger trans and a new Shifter Lever.

Pros:
1) Shifts better
2) Great feel
3) Shorter throws

Cons:
1) Increased noise, shifter clicks which I can live with but trans noise. You can add insulation but you never get completely rid of it.
2) Shift Lever in Kit is too short and isn’t bent towards the driver enough for my 6’2’ HEIGHT. Easy fix with another shift lever, I got one that is longer and bent more toward the driver, also added a home made adapter to move the lever back and up an inch each way.

Easy install, hardest part is getting the Ford stuff out.
After installing this kit the trans noise got louder than I liked so I added some foam around the opening on the floor and up the shifter under the boot. Most of the noise went away but as other things you get used to it.

This is about the cheapest I have seen it, $237:

Then I found this one, $227:
