Icon8 short in 2004 ranger

My son called me stranded in his 2004 ranger. Key would not start and jumper cables did not help. He was pushed and jumped truck off to make it home. As soon as he parked in front of my house and turned truck off. There was aclicking sound coming from passenger kick panel and light on dash that looks like a red padlock was flashing with each click. I removed each wiring module from the passenger kick panel to stop the clicking and flashing. Installed a new radio about two months ago but did not have trouble till now. Any ideas?

I would say battery. Check voltage on it. This time of year with temp change a weak battery will die.

Battery is toast. My 2004 did the same thing. Drove to the gas station, got gas, wouldn't do anything except flash the PATS lock icon on the dash.

A duramax diesel couldn't jump it but a tow truck driver was able to start it with his jump pack. Got it home, shut it off, dead again lol.
