SMOG's coming up... P0122 won't clear

P0122 - Throttle Position Sensor voltage too low

I've replaced the sensor. Checked all the fuses. Checked the pins on the plug and sensor.

I'm really not good at this electronic troubleshooting stuff. Anyone have any ideas on what could be wrong and how to fix it?

So after reading around on here a bit I saw that sometimes the light can take a few drive cycles to clear the light if it were... perhaps... maybe... possibly... *cough cough* unplugged with the engine running.

I wish "drive cycles" could be completed a faster way.

Unhook the battery overnight start the truck up the next morning if your cel comes back on you still have a problem.

What are you using to "clear" this code? Your obd2 ready-ness codes will need to be run a few drive cycles before you can even expect to pass smog. (in most states). Saying that because they are there to keep people from clearing the codes in the parking lot, and pulling into the sniffer.

Unplug the negative cable, turn on the headlight switch for 10 seconds and that should clear it.

Thanks for your input, but with the help of a few buddies I think we got it figured out. I need to go to the DMV to get an extension on my testing but after I get a part from the JY then I should be good. We got the P0122 taken care of and things were going well, but a little later that day I got the P1125 back. No CEL though... just the code.

I'll do a write up on this eventually. Learned some new things today.

I use the AutoTap diagnostic software on my laptop to read/clear my codes and record real-time operating conditions. It's pretty nifty.

... and the reason I'm gonna have to get the extension is because I absolutely realize that the monitors need a few cycles to complete. Speaking of which... has anyone ever actually looked at what a "drive cycle" actually is???... they're ridiculous! Take a look!
