EATC: Best year to get?

I have a 2004 edge, and am wanting to put in an EATC. My question is, is there any difference in performance between the 95-97 units and the 98-01 units?

Reason I ask is because I know the 98+ explorers use PWM dimming. When I did the OHC mod, I used a 97 OHC and changed the lens, so that the display dimmed with my dash. I'm hoping to get the same with the EATC.

I realize I need to match up the blend door and other such parts with the proper year. My main concern is from a functional standpoint... are there any improvements in the 98+ model that make it desirable over proper dimming? Is it any smarter or solve any problems from the 95-97 units?

Edit: EATC -> OHC.

I am out of line, maybe, and to make matters worse I won’t be able to help any who… but what are you talking about ?
I have no idea what you are talking about, stop with the abbreviations without explanation, spell it out first with the (abbreviate) like that, after that use the abbreviation where you need to.

Write for a sixth grade class when you want a good response, if you only want Tech’s/Engineers to respond then write it how ever but don’t get pi$$ed if no one responds.

After all that sorry I can’t help you because I still don’t know what you want to know !

Not pissed. Just surprised. Electronic Automatic Temperature Control (EATC) mod is, I thought, fairly well known (http://www.cardomain.com/ride/296394/14).

I don't know how to spell out what I'm asking any more than I have. I apologize if I offended anyone.

I know what you are talking about.
