Steering bump

When ever I go over a bump at any speed the steering wheel shakes side to side.. It's never done this before until a couple days ago.. There is no play in the wheel and I don't know what it could be..Any ideas?

Thanks!

Have you checked everything in the front end? If not I would make sure everything is tight.

I jacked the truck up and the driver's side tire wobbles up and down with the disk so I am pretty sure my hubs are going. Where is the best place to get one for a 2001? Any how to s on replacing it?

Pull the tire and look to see what moves it can be both. However if the wheel bearing goes it makes a horrible racket as it dies.

Wouldnt ball joinya make squeeking noise? I know mine did but prob not all.
I thi k if you can grab the tire and move it in and out thats the bearings.

Havent done ball joints in school yet so prob an easier way but u could take off the knuckle n grab the ball joints and see how much play there is.

Does it shake fast from left to right when you hit the bump? I bad a blow outer tie-rod and it did that. Let me find the video. I couldn't stop it from shaking no matter how firmly I held the wheel, i had to stop to make it stop. yours might just be on its way out if you can stop it.

Mine are shot and they have been lol, but it seems like it has gotten a lot worse in the past week. Once I replace em I'll know.

Yes it does Pedro. Whenever I hit a bump the wheel moves side to side then goes back to normal. It just feels.. loose.

idk what the heck happened to my audio but here is the video

I'd have to stop on the side of the road to have the wheel stop. any bump would make it do that. Im guessing that with the 33's it made me HAVE TO stop since they're a lot heavier and it wouldn't be as bad with a smaller tire.

My ranger is down for that reason right now, i though my tire was worn funny as it was making that tire howl noise. Then it was a brake noise now I think it just might fall off. My tools are not at home so I need to drive it another few miles, I may make a vid.
