Scangauge Question??

I just got my scangauge in today and have been trying to get the transmission temp setting to work but have had no luck. Has any of you with the scan gague got the TFT to work correctly? Which parameters did you put in in the xgauge part?

there are 3 different transmission temp codes. one in the ford pwm section and two in the ford can section.

on a side note beard you remember meeting me at the indy jamboree?

Mine worked good too. Maybe you have a space in there or something? That happened to me when I entered the wrong code. I went back to the beginning and just entered the code from the pwm. Works fine.

So you guys can confirm that the scangauge will in-fact display your transmission temp?
I was going to buy one but I didn't know if it would display tranny temp on the rangers/explorers. Do you guys know where it is actually reading that temperature from?

i can finally confirm this and yes it does read it and it reads it off your factory pcm i would assume as it reads your trans temp and will throw a check engine light when over heated i would assume

Cool thanks. Maybe instead of installing a tranny temp gauge I'll just get a scangauge 2 and be able to get more info. I'm just wondering where that temperature is read from (like actually inside the tranny or what?)...

Tranny temp readings are 1/2 the reason I bought one to begin with.

As far as where the sensor is.. I don't know. I pretty sure the torque convertor won't go into lock up until the sensor reads a minimum temp. So I'd think Ford would have put it in a important spot.

I believe its in the valve body. I had both the autometer tranny temp gauge and the scangauge for a while. I put my autometer sensor in the test port on the side of the tranny. the scangauge read about 5* warmer. so it must be in there and getting an even better reading.

I love mine. one of the best things I have bought for the truck, keeps me well informed.

Sweet. That's what I wanted to know, so long as it's getting a good reading
Looks like I'll have to pick one up...
