soft pedal after rear disc conversion
just did the rear disc conversion today and ended up with a soft pedal. the truck barely comes to a stop and the pedal is at the floor. i have gone over all the connections and they are tight and not leaking. i bled the rear two different times running half a reservoir through each caliper each time. i have not bleed the front, will bleeding the front help? any help is appreciated.
thanks

How well is the master cylinder matched to the rear disc setup? I did a rear disc conversion once to a fullsize Bronco using rather large calipers, and wound up with a lot of travel in the pedal, because the M/C had to displace such a large amount of fluid to actuate the large calipers. It stopped pretty good, just the pedal had a lot of travel. The cure would have been switching to a M/C designed for rear disc in my case.
I would assume that you are using Explorer rear discs. What have others done when switching, if anything?
Is your truck equipped with a proportioning valve that is detrimental to you rear disc conversion?
Since repairing those leaks, bleed the system again. Then when you think it's good, bleed it again!
Oh, one last thing. Post a pic of your rear calipers, with the bleed screws in the pic. Post two if you have to.

i fixed the leaks, bled it then bled it again with no change. if it had been stopping well i would have lived with the soft pedal.
i have the stock drums back on now and the pedal is back where it was and i have the battery disconnected to reset the code to see if it comes back.
im thinking im just going to stick with the drums and sell the disc parts.

Didn't happen to get a pic of the bleed screws did you? Which way were they oriented? They should be at the highest point of the fluid cavity, otherwise they won't let all the air out. It's a simple mistake to make, especially if you got the calipers mixed up side-to-side, or are mounting them in an orientation other than stock.
If others have done it, there shouldn't be a good reason you can't.
