stumped...weird headlight problem

Looking for some suggestions. With the headlights off and key off everything looks normal. Turn the headlights on with the key off everything looks normal, headlights and parking lights all the way around. Headlights off-key on the illumination for the headlight switch lights up, no other lights on. Right turn signal works normal with or without headlights. Left turnsignal works normal with the headlights off but with the headlights on it makes the ts flasher buzz and no response. Turn the headlights off and the turnsignal is back to normal except the illumination on the headlight switch is lit up. Same effect with the 4 ways as the left signal....any ideas? I've tried a different headlight switch, turn signal switch and cluster with the same effect...I'm kinda stumped!
TIA
John

oh yeah made another observation when you turn the right turnsignal on the corner light doesn't blink but the right one does ...back looks normal

Unless you've don the blinker mod, the corner light isn't supposed to blink. Other than that, I have no clue.

No I didn't do the corner mod and the wires are uncut up front, no signs of damage on the wiring that I can see. BTW its a 2000

John

john im not sure but it sounds like u might have the wire for the little dash indicator hooked up to the flasher for the left side???

just tossing an idea out there. im not sure. wiring sucks

and as far as the switch lighting up does the dimmer work on it?? if not then your getting direct power from somewhere else.

Yeah I ordered a wiring manual last friday and the SOB's must be sending by snail...lol You are probably on the right track.

Check the 3 underhood ground points: 1 each on the left and right inner fender aprons about 2/3 back, another on the radiator bulkhead near the battery. Each should have one or more eyed ground wires going to them.

I'm thinking behind the dash I may have hooked the grounds up to a brown wire(left ts), I'll check this evening.

Brown wire should be parking/running lights HOT. Grounds are usually black.

Yes it is a conversion but the socket is in tact and does the same thing, its just not inserted in the light housing
