Wierd lighting issue

Ok.So left brake light is being controled by witchcraft.

Just bought a 94 ranger single cab. For some reason the running lights, brake lights and turn signals all go off the same 2 filament bulb........on the right rear side. There are also a bulb on each side that does nothing at all.

But on the left, only the turn signal and running light works. When you press the break, nothing.

To a complete novice with nothing but a testing light what are the proper steps for diagnosis and are there any quick fixes that I can do tonight without many parts? I have court in the morning. lol Thanks in advance.

Edit: forgot to mention that I tried rewireing the brake lights to the unused bulb and it seemed like I was able to get it to make the filiment glow ever so slightly.
