Tail Light wiring, 96 3 bulb to 01 2 bulb OEM harness??

Bird76Mojo has a tail light harness for 01 tail lights...

...and I just bought a set of 01 tail lights (sorry man, I bought 'em a day or so before you posted yours).

Problem is that the 01 tails have 2 bulbs & my 96 has 3 bulbs.

I don't want to tape off the bulb, re-wire/ mod if I don't have to. I'd like to be able to use that wiring harness for my 01 tail lights.

Question we have is.... will that wiring harness work on my 96?

I pulled my round connector today & I have 5 or 6 male pins, but it looks like his female round connector has only 5 pins/wires.

I've got a Hoppy brand T trailer adapter to a 4 wire trailer plug & I have an electronic flasher for my LED tail lights already, so I don't have hyper-flash.

I guess I could tap my trailer harness to run up to the 01 tail lights, but I'd rather use a complete OEM harness if it'll work.

Has anyone done a 3 bulb to 2 bulb swap using an OEM 2 bulb harness like this??
Any problems?
