98 Ford Ranger and delayed start

Hey all. Over the last two days I've had a slight problem when starting up my truck and am a little concerned about getting stranded.

When I insert the key and turn it over it will sometimes pause and nothing happens for about a second and a half and then the engine turns over like normal and it starts right up. Its a standard transmission and I've made sure I've had the clutch fully engaged every time.

It doesn't happen every time but the majority of start ups over the last two days. Any ideas?

Sounds like ur battery is going out!! I'd buy a new one or take it out an have Autozone or Advanced Auto an they can do a load test on it!! I say Battery going bad!! My 2 cents!!
