Calling all Gurus!!!!

My ignition hasn't works right for a while. I have a video. Pretty much just watch it all the way through and tell me what you think. Its a HUGE pain in the *** to have to get out and unhook the neg battery terminal. I feel like such a loser having to do it but I need to go to work. Lets get this fixed!!!

You need to pull the ignition switch out to investigate. On the end of the ignition there is a slot type protrusion that slips into a plastic slider. as you turn the ignition the slider moves down and moves the actual electrical part of the igniton(a seperate piece). To remove the ignition there is a small pin you have to push when the ignition is in the run position. There is a hole in the bottom plastic column cover for this purpose but I have not had much luck without removing the plastic cover. Once you push the pin the ignition should pull right out. If your truck doesn't have a pats key you can just purchase a new ignition at the parts store, if equipped with a pats system you will need to have it programed($$$) by a dealer or capable locksmith. If its the plastic piece in the column I have not had any luck removing them and may require a new column.
