HID HeLp
I am going to buy a set of hids soon, probably today or tomorrow, and i want to know what to get. I am going to go with 8000k temp but should i get the bi-xenon kit? I live in MA so i need working high beams (can't get away with a single thing here). has anybody used the bi-xenons? i found a kit for 96.99 shipped from ebay, the ones with the solenoid which angles the bulb upwards when high beam is engaged.....
Help?
oh and some idiot who had this truck before me has GLUED the bulb into the passenger side socket becasue the clip is gone. should i just replace the socket? is it hard to do? i know it costs 5 bucks at autozone but im curious if it would be a B**** to replace
Help?

I dont recommend 8000k at all.. Esp with snow.. thats a horrible idea if you want to see... bi-xenons or hi/lo kits are fishy another thing i dont recommend..
As far as replacing it.. I may not be to bad to do.

get the bi xenons, or your gona have to swap them out come inspection time. or you could get some daylighters and wire them into your highbeam switch. yeah dont get 8000k. get anything lower than 6000k i had 5300k's and they were awsome anything over that you start loosing light and gaining color. honestly im agenst HID's in trucks. they are too high and the headlights on these trucks scatter the light to much, its just a matter of time before you get pulled over or cause an accident. keep the stock head lights and get some KC's if you need light on back roads off road lights are where its at, no headlight HID is gona come close to a long range off road light.

Yeah stay clear of the bi xenon's they aren't worth it and when inspection comes around swap em out real quick. Plus even if you did have the bi xenon's you wouldn't pass inspection if they tested your headlights because of all the glare hids give off. So yeah just stick with the single bulbs and swap em out.

Massachusetts. They try to get you for anything. Every year for inspection, depending on the car, there are different lines on the wall. Whether you have a car or truck your highs and lo's have to be on the line or w/e. i think its pretty stupid. Im just going to buy a scangauge instead lol

its not dumb. it sucks driving down a street and having a kid with hids come over a hill and blind the **** out of you cause they dont know how to aim them. the law is there for a reason. HID's were not ment to be in a halogen reflector. it should be ilegal everyware, unless you find a way to deflect the glare then ya its fine but just throwing them in there is going to blind people.

yes brighter only because its a HID light. the color is BLUE.. its compleatly useless when the pavement is wet you mine as well get blue rice bulbs off ebay. look at the light spectrum. after 5400k you loose light. just like these jackasses that get 10,000k lights and think they are soo0o bright all they are doing is blinding people with near ultraviolet light, and they cant see **** cause the light is so pink.. do some reaserch before you get these headlights but im telling you its not worth it.
i hate to sit on my soap box and nay say everything about HID's but i dont like the idea of how easy it is for aftermarket HID's to get in the wrong hands.. especialy now that they are cheaper than ever.
the only way to do HID's right in our truck is to retrofit a HID's projector housing into the headlight

As far as the projectors melting, I would say absolutely not. HID's run cooler than halogens. The best way to describe HID's to Halogens are like LED's to the stock bulbs.
