Terminal cut out and die?
Hi all, I'm looking for a wee bit of help 2009 ranger just died last night, small crunching noise then she cut out and when you try and start her now there just seems to be a whooshing noise rather than proper engagement
Any ideas would be really helpful Cheers |
Welcome to the forum
2.3l engine or 4.0l engine? Manual or automatic? Assuming 2WD not 4x4 If automatic is reads like flex plate may have broken at the crank Did the engine stop running or did you just lose power to rear wheels? |
Hi, yes it's a 4x4 manual 2009 diesel I think 2.5 but I'll check. Its my wee brothers car. There was a wee crunch and then it dies all together. I took off the timing belt cover and the belt is intact bit is missing teeth at the bottom and doesn't turn. It looks to me like it's sized but there is plenty oil. I tried to turn the top cog and it's very hard.
Cheers Peter |
You are out of our area of Ranger expertise
We are in North America Last Diesel engine Ranger we saw was in 1985, petrol only after that and still today on new Rangers |
