Timing issue

hello, i have a 1993 ranger splash 3.0L V6. i replaced the distributer and i removed the inline sprout connector so i can begin to time it and now i cant seem to get it to start up at all no matter what angle the distributer is on. I've been thinking maybe my coil went bad as well but i don't want to go out and buy one just yet. and when it tries to turn over it turns for a second then stalls then turns again no matter what angle the distributer is on. Any advice?

Ht be a little late for this but did you check to see if your getting power to the pump? Check the fuel pressure in KOEO to see if your gettin pressure to the rail
