Brakes! Rotor and pad questions!

I've been having trouble with my brakes not working properly lately so im just going to go ahead and replace everything since its been awhile anyway. I'm looking to upgrade to a slotted rotor and EBC yellow or green stuff pads. As well as rebuild my drum brakes. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should think about getting? I'm thinking about getting EBC rotors too just so everything matches and to be sure there are no issues.

when i hit the brakes hard they initially grab hard and then they wont brake as hard and no matter how hard you stand on the pedal it won't brake any harder. The brake fluid levels havnt changed either.

Sounds like its in the drums more then anything. If you search the site, you will find what rotors are popular with the guys.

I wuld suggest adjusting your rear brakes to start off. It could be as simple as the rear shoes are not adjusted. If they are I would over haul the rear with a new hardware kit. Take apart the adjusters and apply some anti seize so they move nice and good. For the front i would get stock replacement rotors with some Wagner Thermo Quite Ceramic pads. Also in the rear check the condition of the wheel cylinders.

Check the rear drums, the could be beyond the minimum thickness. As for the cross drilled / slotted rotors, it would be an upgrade to the performance of the front brakes but you need some open rim designed rim to show them off!!!! LOL

i have yellow stuff hd pads up front. amazing. plus teamed up with and expo axle with disks make life great there.

slotted rotors will be the way to go, drilled is no mas, they tend to crack between holes and then explode. i think your on the right track man

How do the yellow stuff pads compare to the green stuff pads?

If you do pads and rotors up front, Autoanything.con is running a special on PowerSlot kits--under $175 with free shipping for HiPo pads with slotted/crossdrilled rotors. You'd be hard-pressed to get parts store pads and rotors for that price.

So while I was shopping around for brakes I found this
http://www.autoanything.com/brakes/75A5498A0A0.aspx
Has anyone on here tried this? It looks good and seems like a good deal too.

well i ordered a complete hardware kit for the drum brakes from rock auto along with wheel cylinder repair kits. So i'll put all of that on when i get the chance and if that doesn't work im going to move up to the front.
