so i want to get these headlights for my truck but i dont know what each light really is. what is the smaller one? is one hi beam and the other low? if i were to get hids then would i have to get 2 bulbs for both headlights? im really confused, if someone could teach me a little about them that would be great. thanks.

for the 93-97, the small projector is basically a fog light. it is controlled separately from the other light, which is your high/low beam.

it's wired completely separate from the main light. you can run it from a switch independent of the headlights. when i wired mine, i tied it into the parking lights. when i turn the parking lights on, the projector comes on. so it depends on how you wire it. can it be on all the time, yes.

it's in a projector housing. it's just the style. there is a difference. the projector has a bubble type lens that keeps the light at a certain height. fog lights don't have that bubble.

Not to be a jerk, but if you cannot figure out how a projector/HID headlight is installed and how it's correctly wired, maybe you need to have a professional accessory shop help you with your questions and the installation.

glad i'm not the only one feeling that way.

but to answer your question, you can get HIDs for either the high/low beam or the projector, or both. the projector has nothing to do with the main headlight. it is just an auxiliary light.

Does anyone know if the light output of these headlights are better than the factory lights? I am also interested in possibly buying them.

Its not basically a fog light. Projectors have a very clear and defined cut-off to the beam pattern. OEM's have been using projectors and/or HID/projectors for head lights for years now.

You can use HID's in place of the regular 9007 bulb, and fit HID's into the projector if you want.
