Pulling gas tank

Hey y'lall

I have a 1993 Ford Ranger XLT regular cab with a 2.3 liter 4 cylinder engine.

Im pulling out the bed to get to the gas tank which is in the way of installing my new drivers side cab mount. 1st--Where are the bolts that attach the bed to the frame? 2nd--Where is the schrader valve located so that i can relieve the fuel pressure? 3rd-- Do I have to bleed the gas lines after i reconnect them to the tank? Thanks in Advance guys!

Shouldn't You have said "yous guys" lol jk man

the bolts that attach the bed should be well.. in the bed, there are 6 on mine, im not sure how many you have, mine also used a Torx bit.. but they should be easy to find, if you have any kind of bed liner it should come out, if its a spray in your going to have to cut around the bolts

Soak the threads (visible from underneath) with PB Blaster, several times for several days prior to pulling the bed.

The bolts are LONG and the threads are likely rusted badly. Use a breaker bar.

You can start the truck and pull the fuel pump fuse (or relay) and let it run till it dies (to relieve the pressure). The schrader valve should be on the fuel injectors' fuel rail.

When you reconnect the lines (reinstall the fuse or relay you pulled earlier, obviously), just turn the key to ON 2 sec, but don't crank, then OFF at least 10X. That'll run the fuel pump about 1 second each time you go key to on and will prime the fuel rail with pressure. Same as if you ran it out of gas.
