Turn Signal Stop Adjustment?
Hey everybody, hope somebody might have some insight on a question I have. Not sure if this is the best forum but I'll give it a shot.
So my question is could I, [or has anyone] adjusted the stop on the turn signal control? I live on a road that is a T intersection off of the apex of a curve in the road. Every time I put my signal on to turn [left] I have to keep the wheel turned to the right even though I will soon be turning in the opposite direction. The signal never stays on so I have to shift (manual) and try to keep the signal on while turning 90 degrees. I guess it's not that big of a deal, but it gets annoying. It is not really that much of an angle, I would guess about 10 degrees judging by the steering wheel. So is there any way to adjust how sensitive the control is? I'm planning to take a look at it tomorrow, but any advice or prior experience would be appreciated. |
I dont think you can, its internal to the switch.

I'm sure if you disassemble things, you could probably break whatever is in there that makes it automaticly return. You'd have to manually cancel the signal everytime you use it though. I doubt there is a way to adjust it; more likely it is going to be functional or not functional.

There are no adjustments inside.

Thanks for the replies, anybody have an idea what it might cost to replace the unit? Not that I will, just curious. Thanks again.

just hold it with a finger so it doesnt turn off. or just stop using it and when if it causes an accident sue the city cuz they built the road like that lol.

I wonder if you just held it on every turn if it would break the little switch thing. If you got pulled over for it (signal going of prematurely) could you sue Ford?

Thanks Bob, $75!? Eh, i'll just deal, or use a hand signal...haha
Haha KARPE you called my town a city awww thanks, but we are definately a small town, so chances of winning a lawsuit probably nil. I would definately try to sue Ford if I got hit or pulled over :cop: but my brakelights work so I doubt anyone will rearend me, of course stranger things have happened... |
Yup, this has always been a very minor beef of mine w/ the Ranger. I hold it down w/ my left hand in such instances.. or I give up and skip the blinker altogether. It is a pain in the ass..
