Fuel Cell Questions
Well, doing the V8 swap in my ranger, im contemplating going with a fuel cell, first off, easier to run a larger fuel lines, to feed the motor over the stock lines, and also free up the room, and transfer a little weight to the rear.
Summit sells 20 gallon cells with 2'' sumps and -8an fittings. Wich should be plenty to feed my 347 im building.
My main questions are, im assuming i need to run an inline pump now rather then the in tank style...(still need to buy a larger pump anyhow) is this correct? no big deal... the truck will have a 3''body lift, and i plan to put the cell where my spare used to be, between the frame rails, under the bed... and ill make and access door in the truck bed to the fuel cell for fill up ideally.
My main question is most of the summit tanks come with a 0-90 ohm Gm sending unit, what sending unit can i use, to work with the stock fuel gauge in the dash? will my stock sending unit work, or do i have some modifications ahead?... And if i do need to run an inline fuel pump... will the stock fuel pump wiring be sufficient in powering the inline pump once i get rid of the stock fuel system. I searched a bit but didnt find to many fuel install setups with sending units and such, mostly racers that have put them in.
