question with front driveshaft. . .amusing story

Well i decided id go swap my front diffs this morning, loosened the cv bolts ect ect, well i got under and went to unbolt the front driveshaft and managed to break my torx socket in the bolt. And of course i cant get a wrench around the bolts, anyone have an idea as to what i should do before i decide to just cut the bracket off? I have a whole complete dana 35 with new brackets and bolts/screws so i dont care to much if i break these ones

heat, use heat on that yoke, then the bolt will come out. a small propane torch will do the trick.

I've had a hard time getting torx bits to hold up. I found a set that were hardened and the socket they are pressed into are hardened too.
Lifetime warrenty does'nt mean squat. Quality does.

I'm looking for some opinions here, i got the new diff installed hooked the driveshaft up
4wd works but once i hit say over 20 it starts to groan almost, i personally think my u-joint on the front driveshaft either needs replacement or needs to be greased. But if anyone of you have an idea of what else it could be please tell me. Mayb its as simple as turning the driveshaft im not sure. Again any help is appreciated

do you have a better description other than groan?

How does it sound, and how does it feel?

its not THAT hard..

you can get a small wrench on it, but it takes FOREVER to get the bolt/screw all the way in/out. just for future reference.

A whine? Check for any play at the tc, you might have bad bearings at the front output.

You might want to remove the front ds and see if you have the noise still. (have it in 4x4 so the front output is being used)
